Do you believe in fairy tales?
The producer and creator of The Body Chronicles, (awards: Creative Loafing Best Original Show and Metrolina Theatre Association Best Special Event) donna scott Productions is excited to announce her newest effort: The Fairy Tale Chronicles! The culmination of a creative two year project, The Fairy Tale Chronicles is an evening of theatre featuring satirical, updated fairy tales, re-envisioned for the stage by local playwrights Jennifer Hubbard, Marla Brown, Iesha Hoffman, Stan Peal and Shannon Reichley. Sheila Snow Proctor will direct. This project is a collaborative effort that has included the input of over 150 local artists and patrons of the Charlotte theatrical community during the research, development and workshop process of the concept in 2007-2008.
The Fairy Tale Chronicles is a project in partnership with Theater Charlotte and Ron Law, Executive Director at Theatre Charlotte. The Fairy Tale Chronicles will hold its limited World Premier run at Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Road on June, 5,6,7,11,12, and 13, 2009. All shows will be at 8:00 pm, with the exception of the Sunday matinee on June 7th at 2:00. Tickets prices are as follows: adults- $21, Students and Seniors-$19 and children-$14 and can be reserved through the Theatre Charlotte box office at 704 376-3777. The Fairy Tale Chronicles will be headlining Once Upon a Festival, an arts festival hosted by Theater Charlotte and produced by donna scott productions to celebrate and showcase local artists that live and work in our community. Current scheduled acts are as follows: An evening of music by Volatile Baby on Sunday June 7, a first ever special “Best Of” edition of Theatre Charlotte and Vito Abate’s Just Do It Series, and an evening of Slam Poetry by our own Slam Poetry National Championship Team on Wednesday, June 10 will also be featured during this festival. Additional event dates, ticketing and times are being confirmed and will be updated under an additional release.
